Andrew Hill is a successful author and motivational speaker who has appeared before audiences throughout the United States and Canada.  His book, BE QUICK, BUT DON’T HURRY:  Finding Success in the Teachings of a Lifetime, is now in its fifteenth printing.

From January 1991 to April 1996, Andrew Hill served as president of CBS Productions in charge of development and production for all CBS owned entertainment programming.  During Mr. Hill’s presidency, CBS Productions became the network’s leading supplier of primetime programs.   In addition to increasing network advertising profits, these series returned more than $1.5 billion in foreign and domestic syndication income.

During his tenure at CBS Productions, Hill was responsible for some of the decade’s most successful primetime programming including TOUCHED BY AN ANGEL; DR. QUINN, MEDICINE WOMAN; WALKER, TEXAS RANGER; CAROLINE IN THE CITY; DAVE’S WORLD; and RESCUE 911.  In fact, when the CBS lineup featured DR. QUINN, TOUCHED BY AN ANGEL, and WALKER on Saturday night, it was the first and only time in broadcasting history that one studio supplied an entire successful night of programming to any network.

In 1997 Hill was named president of Programming for the Channel One Network, the largest source of news and information for America’s teens.  Hill left Channel One in July of 2000 to write BE QUICK, BUT DON’T HURRY:  Finding Success in the Teachings of a Lifetime.   The book was published by Simon and Schuster and was co-authored by John Wooden, the man voted by ESPN as the greatest coach of the 20th century and named by The Sporting News as the greatest coach of all time.

Hill’s educational credentials include a Master’s Degree in Education and an undergraduate degree in psychology, both from UCLA.  While at UCLA, he was a member of three consecutive N.C.A.A. championship basketball teams under the guidance of Coach Wooden.  This makes Andy a member of an exclusive club since only twelve other men have been on three championship teams.  Not surprisingly, these players have one thing in common—they all played for John Wooden at UCLA.  In 2017, Andy was inducted into the Southern California Jewish Sports Hall of Fame.

In addition to speaking and consulting to corporations and professional organizations, Andy has had the honor of introducing Coach Wooden at an awards presentation at the 2002 Final Four in Atlanta, has addressed the UCLA Men’s Basketball team and the University of Michigan Football team, and gave the commencement address at The University of Michigan School of Music and at The UCLA Anderson School Executive Training Program.  Andy also has been featured on such television programs as REAL SPORTS with Bryant Gumbel on HBO; NIGHTLINE with Ted Koppel; THE NEWSHOUR with Jim Lehrer; CNBC’s POWER LUNCH with Bill Griffeth,  FOX SPORTS NET ROUNDTABLE with Bill MacDonald; Bill Walton’s LONG STRANGE TRIP on ESPN; the TEN GREATEST COACHES OF ALL TIME that aired on CBS; and was the subject of a segment on FOX SPORTS NET narrated by Todd Donoho.  Hill spent 15 years giving value added presentations on behalf of T. Rowe Price to their clients across the country.

Andy lives with his wife of 48 years, Janice, in Los Angeles, California.  Janice is a psychotherapist in private practice and certified yoga instructor.  They have a daughter, Alexandra, who is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania, happily married to Mickey Berman and mother of Zach, Izzy, and Grant.   Their son Aaron, a graduate of Michigan and Yale, is an oboe professor at University of Nevada Reno.  Aaron and his wife Dr. Laura Smith have a son, Ronan.
