Special features for 2021

In trying to be responsive to the unique conditions facing all of us, our 2021 competition has a few special features.

  • In order to help teams learn how to do professional level Zoom presentations, we have commissioned a series of three videos by Ms. Stacy Ferratti, a consultant who has worked with major international corporations for a number of years.
  • Professor Thomas White, IBECC’s Founder and Executive Director, will be posting short videos targeted to particular features of getting ready for IBECC.
  • In light of the response of many companies to events in the United States over the last year and to the global pandemic, we expect that some teams may be interested in addressing related issues. We’re offering some guidance about how to do this within IBECC’s traditional framework. Click here.
  • We are going to experiment with having a case’s “degree of difficulty” be a factor in the judging. Click here.
  • While we have to suspend the biathlon again in 2021, we want to continue having a “doing something good for others” piece in IBECC. Accordingly, we would like to encourage interested teams to do something tangible to support an organization in your community that has been helping people deal with hardships brought on by the pandemic. To support teams’ efforts, IBECC will donate $2000, dived evenly among these organizations. We’re also asking teams to make a two-to-three-minute video describing your efforts. • Our “moral compass” competition is open to a limited number of students not participating in IBECC. Click here.
