Academic/athletic biathlon competition
The winning team will be able to designate a charity that will receive a $500 donation in their name. “The World’s Most Intellectually Daunting Biathlon” combines the team’s performance in the 25-minute presentation and a 3-mile time trial run/jog/walk. Essay competitions
We will also be holding two essay competitions with prizes of $500. The essays will have a maximum of 500 words. One prize, funded by Stanley and Carol Botts, will be for the best essay that shows how the team’s solution exemplifies the concept of “servant leadership.” The second prize will be for the best essay explaining why the team’s recommendation is the best solution from an ethical perspective. Essays are due by Sunday, April 16 and should be submitted to essay@ibecc.net.
