The Abigail Adams Institute (AAI) is an independent scholarly institute dedicated to preserving traditional liberal arts education in the Harvard intellectual community. AAI serves students in all stages of their education but is also open to young professionals looking to acquaint themselves with the humanistic tradition of learning. Since its inception AAI has been supportive of efforts to foster moral and ethical behavior in all areas of business and management. We are delighted to now be part of Dr. Thomas White’s efforts to create an environment of learning, collaboration, and mentorship for the next generation of business leaders. 
The Center for Ethics in Business and Governance at Saint Anselm College is dedicated to providing students with opportunities for careful reflection, dialogue, and collaboration on the ethical issues faced by real organizations and communities in the world today. The unique model offered by the International Business Ethics Case Competition is a superb vehicle for the development of these habits in our students. Students are challenged to examine together difficult business ethics cases from a variety of perspectives, to identify clearly the ethical issues and norms at work in the situation, and to present their views in a clear and convincing manner to a panel of experienced judges. Overall, IBECC is an enriching educational experience for our next generation of leaders.
IBECC provides an invaluable service by offering our students the chance to engage with real-world problems in something approximating a real-world context.  Faculty can make sure that our own students understand the issues and consider a variety of perspectives, but we can’t create the energy and pressure (and excitement) of presenting their conclusions to actual practitioners in competition with their peers.  Our students who have competed at IBECC speak very positively of their experience there, and often mention how impressed they are by all of the work of the other teams. It’s heartening to see new generations of practitioners entering the field with so much energy and enthusiasm, and I am grateful to IBECC for providing the forum for it.
